And no doubt you're right, it's almost certainly not for you if that's not your thing.
But your post got me to thinking... would I label it a 'comedy'. Hmmmmm, yeah, I guess you would have too... and yet, it's got a very serious undertone.
I had spoken to my family about the movie so last night two grandsons, his girlfriend, my son-in-law, watched it. They impressed me because they were quick to understand the what's and why's of the movie... quicker than I was on first viewing.
But to point: The movie stars Michelle Yeoh, know her? A long time ago we discussed the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" on this board. Opinions were wildly divergent... one of those hate it of love it things with very few in the middle. I was super impressed with Michelle Yeoh in that film and took note. While there is no such thing as 'best actor' if I was asked that question I think I'd have to answer Michelle Yeoh. She amazes me.
I have not, however, seen her very many times. I think the only other time beside Crouching Tiger and this one - Everything, Everywhere, And All At Once, was in the movie Memoirs Of A Geisha, which I also loved. I'm a groupie.
