I think the way to live it down..

would be when the subject comes up, you kind of sheepishly say, "Yeah, I put on that Flowered Patterned Blue MuMu, and ya know what? I kinda liked it"..

That should generate some stunned silence...

..or someone will yell out, "I KNEW IT!"
