I remember when Charleton Heston made an announcement in 2002 to the public that he had Alzheimer's disease and would be retiring from public life. I cried thinking of who he'd been on screen and what he would become in real life due to that awful, awful disease. We never saw Heston in public again and 6 years later at age 84, he died. I'm not saying Bruce Willis will meet the same end. Just thinking about the 2 actors who both stepped away because of health reasons but told their fans what they were doing and why. I think it's brave yet right for Willis to be honest about it in informing the millions of fans who have adored him throughout his long career. And yes... it's sad.
