It certainly sounds like a LOT is missing to the story.

My Brother fell square on his head from a 11-12 ft fall and had a slight fracture on the back of his head. I hear Saget had multiple fractures and bruising. The ONLY thing I can think of in regards to a "Fall" would be falling off a tall A Frame ladder...smacking his face on the top of the ladder and then the back of the head on the floor. Who knows?
