First of all credit to the Braves for outplaying the Dodgers. They are a spirited bunch put together by Alex Anthopoulos who recently worked for Friedman with the Dodgers much like Farhan Zardi and Gabe Kapler of the Giants. And they all came from the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Smart fellows-all of them.

Dodgers-All teams have injuries but in order to advance to the WS a team-IMO -needs depth to counter the injuries. When you have names like Souza and Burns in the most important game of the year it seems clear that-as predicted-the Dodgers really missed Kiki and Joc. Sure, both wanted to play full time, but that didn't work our for them and yet they provided great Octobers for the Red Sox and Braves when it counted.

Then there is the open question-for me-re Max Scherzer. Bad taste in my mouth re "his" decision not to play. With his statement that nothing structural was wrong with his arm-just "tired" it begs the question as to whether his concern was more about risking his free agency worth millions. Credit to Buehler who was "tired" as well taking the mound without complaining.

Then there was high up management -not Roberts-decisions to change the pitching lineup that got them 106 wins during the regular system and begin games with "openers" as opposed to starters.

Of course injuries to Kershaw, Muncy, Turner, Seeger, Betts, Pollock, Bellinger, etc didn't help the cause limiting the players from being their best as well as actually sidelining Muncy, Turner, Kershaw, Kelley during the extended season if not totally for the playoffs.

And of course, who can forget the lovely story about Trevor Bauer.
