What the Tour de France needs to do is to make the race safer for both the bikers and the onlookers. I'm not sure how it would be enforced, but to me spectators should not be able to "reach out and touch" a biker in the race in any way. You're just asking for an incident like this to happen. And I don't think spectators
should be allowed on the road either. Bikers and people working the race should be the only ones on the road and that's it. Surely there are safety measures that can be taken to prevent accidents like this from happening again.
