There's no willingness to engage in an exchange of ideas; the marketplace for ideas is closed for business.

It's "whatever my thought leader says or agrees with, then I'm taking that side." Or "whatever my political party says, that's the side I'm on."

Thinking for yourself or, as you say, critical analysis is verboten.

Not a healthy mindset. We don't have to look far back in history to see why.
