This movie came to mind just about an hour ago, when I was Googling old US aircraft carriers. I looked at info on the USS Valley Forge. It was cool to see there was a carrier still in WWII configuration AFTER I was born (1967) AAAAANYWAY......I read that some of the scenes were filmed in the Hangar Deck just before she was scrapped. I had not thought of Silent Running in YEARS! I have not seen that movie since I was about 6 or 7 years old. All I remember is the little robots...Huey, Lewie, and Duey?? I cannot recall the story of the movie. I know Dern was trying to save the last of Earth's wildlife / woods. I DO recall the ending was sorta sad. I remember seeing one of the robots being sucked into space or something.
Has anyone seen this within the last 10 years? Is it worth another look?
