The safe I currently have I lost the key too... so I have to break into it. Watched some YouTube videos about it and it was kids about 6 opening MY model with a paper clip. 
Unfortunately I don't have a 6 year old in my house so the easy access paperclip trick didn't work for me, try as I did.
Biometric is for quick access. The first "biometric" models were apparently junk... BUT...today they have, again apparently, solved that issue and work well. I just need something for safety, security... so some random person can't pop it open on a whim. If someone breaks into my home and steals the entire safe so be it.
