Long term quarantine restriction are akin to using a sledgehammer as a flyswatter from an objective cost/benefit pov. IMO, of course.

We’ve had virus epidemics in this country before. This one is looking like a mortality rate of under 1%, and far less if one is not in the ‘vulnerable’ group. You don’t shut everything down for months for that. Negative ripple effects of such an overreaction have devastating consequences, too.
