they rightly fear the virus and want to make sure they have plenty of the "essentials". So what do they do ? They line up right behind each other, breathing on each other, talking to each other, no masks, no gloves, etc. Some stores have gotten smart and have dots on the floor to make sure people stay back from each other-but so many don't listen. Before the virus I once did an ad hoc study. Tired of people breathing down my back as I waited in line to pay for groceries I thought I knew something. So I started to make small talk and got around to learning at least 80% of these people who were like "pushing" me through the line faster and faster were from New York. My theory is that New York people are more aggressive because of necessity-living so close to one another, fighting for a cab, fighting to get on board public transportation , etc. They also seem to be "loud". My theory is because New York is the loudest city there its. Oh well -off the soap box.
