A few years ago before my ladder cancer diagnosis when I probably had bladder cancer but didn't know it... I had an episode where my abdomen was in so much pain that my whole body was shaking like it was 40 below and I was screaming uncontrollably. It had been that way for several hours and I was home alone. I could do nothing to help myself. Frank got home and called 911. An ambulance took me to ER at the hospital. The police also showed up to make sure I wasn't the victim of a crime. In the ambulance they asked me what my pain level was on a 1-10 scale. I remember answering "12". They gave me fentanyl intravenously for the pain (first time I'd ever heard of the drug or taken it) in the ambulance and again after I checked in at the ER and was taken to an examination room. They kept me at the hospital until the pain was gone and I felt normal which was about 4 hours. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before or sense.
