In High School, at least here where I live... there are two 40 minutes halves... HOWEVER.. the clock always tops at 2:00 m to go.
Yes, I'm sure that's to allow for 'stoppage time' but I'm confused on how it works? Why stop the clock with 2:00 to go? Does that mean it's actually 38 minute halves and when the clock stops at 2:00 then you're into stoppage time? The clock never runs after it hits 2:00.... they don't adjust for however much the Ref determines is left... so I have no idea if 'stoppage' is ALWAYS 2 minutes.. which would make no sense to me.. why even stop it if that's the case? Or maybe it just that the Ref never notifes the scoring booth so it's an unknown?
