Isn't that amazing? That I can remember my MOS number like that after so many years? Actually... most vets remember their MOS... although for most it's easy because it's always infantry training.
Computer Repairman... that was my title. Of course what we called computers back then and what they are today are two entirely different animals.
Funny thing about job... I could only work on 'government owned' computers... and where they stationed me they leased all the computers. Told me they'd transfer me to a place with 'owned' computers but two years later I was in the same place.
Now yes, I did have it easy... my own boss, didn't have to work at all if I didn't want too... but I did, kind of boring to just sit around thumbing my nose at everyone all day. Plus, the repairmen from Germany who could work on the computers were terrible... my commanding officer took me in one day and said something like, "Can't make you, Jimmy, but we could sure use you. I wouldn't tell anyone if you don't"... so I worked daily. - JamesJM
