I've known a few hypnotherapists and they would never claim to get a patient to believe they were someone or something they are not-i.e. a chicken. That's not how hypnotherapy works ! At least serious hypnotism or hypnotherapy. One is not "under a spell" so to speak. And most agree that there are patients of theirs that are more easily responsive to the therapy than others-some of whom simply have a mental wall that cannot be penetrated. So it works for some and not for others.
