in one of my film classes we came close to spending an entire semester on this film. Actually we studied several, but this one got the most attention.

It's one of those films that IMHO holds up perfectly... IOW... you could run this film in a theater today and draw a crowd.

Personally... it's one of very few movies ever made in which I cannot think of any role in the movie that isn't cast perfectly. - JamesJM
