I posted recently about just reading "A Canticle For Leibowitz"... and in that novel some of the dialog was simply otherworldly in depth, intelligence, philosophical complexity... and yet...
I see the same depth, intelligence and philosophical complexity in the dialog between Gus and Pea Eye. And yes, I'm being serious here. That was an incredible scene - depicting two men whom you would think, even after careful reflection, shared next to nothing... and yet, neither, IMHO, considers the other better, or more 'worthy', for lack of a better word. They see each other as different.. nothing more; no aspersions cast, no impediment to their friendship.... accepting to a fault but much more - building on that relationship where one, or very few anyway, would see any foundation from which to build.
Ahhhh, off on stuff I have no business trying to decipher... I'm definitely more akin to Pea Eye, I just wanna be Gus.
