I have a theory about Casablanca.

The movie represents to men-and maybe to many women-a love lost-then found-and lost again. There can be nothing more than dynamic than that. Many of us can identify and the movie represents a powerful but safe truthfulness that we can re-visit from time to time. Someone once said-and I think it is so true-that a love affair is not about the woman-or man-as it is about the affair itself. Excitement and danger at the same time can be quite the narcotic.
