Yeah, waterfield, everything I had seen leading up to this trip stated that there were way more sharks at Guadalupe IIsland this year than ever before.. the males got there early in August and the females don't normally arrive until Sept/Oct.. we got lucky and had one or two females there.. But, there were tons of males there.. the boat captain stated there were at least 25 different males there on our last day, but I only counted 10-12 that constantly were going by the cages..

There were 4 cages in all - two surface cages and two submersibles that went to 30 feet deep.. eventually they just stayed at the surface cuz that's were the action was..

Water temps were about 69 degrees.. I had a 7mm suit on, boots and gloves and was still freezing.. lol.. but I was spending LONG periods of time in the cages.. that last day, when there were sharks everywhere, there was no way I was getting out of that cage.. No way... It was first come, first serve, and we managed to play it perfectly after lunch and get the best spots for the entire afternoon.. They would have had to drag me out.. lol

I think everyone onboard were divers.. Some extremely experienced, some not so much.. It was a trip cuz on the submersible cages, the dive masters would jus lie down on top of the cages at 30 feet deep and blow bubble rings - totally unprotected from the sharks..
