if you have a grandson playing, that is. I'm used to going to practices, having a beer with the HC occasionally, attending backyard BBQ's with the asst. coaches.

My grandson is playing for Reedley J.C. I know one of the coaches, (he was coaching at my grandson's high school last season). Been at practice going on a month now although official training only started today. Here's what I know about how it's going:

Nothing.

Oh sure, I ask my grandson... I get one word replies. "Good". I'm out of the loop, and I'm not used to being out of the loop.

I monitor Reedley's Facebook page, Twitter account, and school football website every couple of hours. nada. Still showing the scores for the last game of last season. Exasperating.

Two 'travel' games I'm looking forward to this year but will probably only be able to attend one of them. Monterey Peninsula and Eureka. Both on the coast, both 'cool' weather. Eureka may be impossible... long drive.
