Yeah this is huge here in Middle Georgia....He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, located in downtown Macon, Georgia

Here is their tie to Macon Ga....

The Allman Brothers Band
Although none of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band were born in Macon, Georgia, it is here that they all came together in 1969. Capricorn Records brought them to Macon and the group of long-haired musicians made a permanent mark on the town. Gregg Allman, Duane Allman, Dickie Betts, Butch Trucks, Berry Oakley and Jaimoe soon gained the support of local chef Mama Louise Hudson. Mama Louise often fed them for free at her restaurant, H&H, which is still open for business today. The Allman Brothers spent time exploring Rose Hill Cemetery, which led to a famous photo shoot as well as the inspiration for more than one song. When Duane Allman and Berry Oakley were tragically killed in separate motorcycle accidents, Rose Hill was chosen as their final resting place with the two being buried side-by-side. Visitors can experience the lasting legacy of The Allman Brothers by touring The Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House, which is located in the home where the band resided from 1970-1973. In addition to showcasing actual artifacts and recreating some of the band’s living space, The Big House Museum is also a popular local venue that offers live music in the pavilion on the museum’s grounds.
