I have read on a few sites that with binoculars, low power, viewing structural dimensions is possible. I saw nothing about 'naked eye' ability BUT....

If the pass is as close as it gets... and with binoculars it's possible... wouldn't be surprising at all to me if it's possible with the naked eye... meaning we're not kookie-putz, Ramgator. spin tounge smiley

Much the same as the Andromeda Galaxy... on a perfectly clear night I can tell it's a galaxy with the naked eye... but most of the time no.
