They have now been able to do about all they can do to strengthen the levee. Equipment is in place and ready to go should a break occur AND if the break is manageable... it could be so big they won't be able to do anything.
Every day the amount of water coming down from dam release increases...and I'm sure that will continue at LEAST through June and probably July.
There was a small break a couple of days ago, that they quickly repaired.
Good news is: My flood insurance kicked in a couple of weeks ago... ALTHOUGH... I'm sure that should I get flooded the insurance company will try to weasel out of covering it because I didn't get it until this threat was active.
We, (by we I mean the valley and not very near me... perhaps 40 miles away), had a couple of tornados this year. Yes, Calif. gets tornados.. not rare at all BUT... rarely, (I've never heard of even one), of the size you're referring too. I can recall some damage.. roofs being torn off... but I never recall a tornado actually demolishing a house, or anything else.
Do you have tornado shelters... a cellar maybe? - JamesJM
