I'm getting hard of hearing.... I think hearing aids are in my near future. I can't follow conversations. I'm that guy that will ask you "What" 4 or 5 times in a row. BUT... I have found a cure for that.
Now when i see someone's lips move, and realize they are speaking to me, I stop them and let them know, "I'm not going to hear anything you say... or rather, I will HEAR that you're speaking but I won't be able to make out the words. So unless you want to repeat yourself a dozen times... or just give up and let it be... shout it out".
So far everyone I've tried this with has opted for option 2... giving up and letting it go.
