Recently our Varisity and JV's 'merged' for a scrimmage.... 'touch'... rules are very strict now about full contact. (good thing IMHO). An aside: our youth football league for the first time ever is going 'no contact' in practice at all... not sure I agree with that... but thought I'd note it.

During the scrimmage my 14 yr old grandson, who is vying for the #1 QB spot this year on the JV's, he's now a Freshman, got to throw to some of the Varsity receivers... meaning: His older brother, our #1 WR on the Varsity. They combined for two "Bomb" TD's... by that I mean over 40yds in the air, or right at 40yds. He was one 'proud' kid.... calling it the best day he's ever had... and 'older brother' said he lit it up and that he's 'Varsity Ready' today.

They are typical brothers, or at least... 'typical' brothers in my family.. meaning almost non stop fighting, arguing, over the top competitiveness... for 'older brother' to give 'younger' brother that much praise made my heart soar. - JamesJM
