This is a photo of the Coast Range... NOT the Sierra Nevadas, (the truly big mountains).
highest peaks in this area of the Coast range is about 5,000'... most mountains are under 4,000'.
This view is not from my home... but close. In a normal year we might see a light dusting of snow on the very tops of these mountains once, maybe twice a year. And not across all the mountains but only the very highest ones.
This means, of course, that my ranch... just over the tops of these mountains, is covered in snow. Looks like I'll be headed to my ranch today! - JamesJM
