NASA news, habitable planets abound...

November 09, 2020 12:52PM
or at least they think they do. And not only that... they say 24-30 habitable planets possibly 'close by'. They are defining close by as 20 to 30 light years, which doesn't seem very close at all to me... even though that does seem like a lot within that distance.

Now we aren't ever going to travel at the speed of light, it's impossible... so lets say we can reach half the speed of light... meaning a 50-60 year trip to a 'habitable planet'.... and it darned well better turn out to be habitable because if not those space voyagers are in deep doo-doo.

What I would do first, were I one of the first to land on a new planet, is watch out for snakes, and hopefully not be so focused on spotting the all new poisonous snakes that I miss seeing their 10' wing span mosquitos. I'd also want sstrams along with me to be first to test the water... both to see if it's potable and also to make sure no poisonous sharks are lurking along the shoreline.
