dodger fans-don't blame the players

don't blame Kershaw; don't blame Bellinger; don't blame Seeger; don't blame Kelley; don't blame the kiddies. If you need someone or something to blame-its the sun ! Seriously. I've thought for some time that living in So Cal with the perfect weather, the beach, the entertainment capital of the world, etc.-its simply a tiny bit easier when you lose to go home. No worries about hurricanes, humidity and heat, shoveling snow, tornadoes, etc. The only worries are weather those bikinis on the beach in front of your house are going to get up and leave. It's only natural to lose a little bit of an edge especially when the pressure is on. And that's all it takes for an opposing team to win when they are good enough to be in the playoffs. I suppose what I'm saying is that -and I know this won't sound good-it is just a little bit softer living here in So Cal. Sure you can still win 106 games but when the pressure is on...At the beginning of this game there was not the same pressure as later so the Dodgers get 3 in the first and then...nothing-when the pressure becomes more and more.

Now if you want to totally discount the above you can put blame on the following: Kershaw (not surprising giving up all the home runs this year); Bellinger; Seeger; Kelley; Roberts; Baez; Jansen (yes he was not used when he otherwise would have been a few years ago but Roberts doesn't trust him) Friedman(why dictate Kershaw piggy backs Buehler when his weakness has all year long been early home runs).

We also need to pay attention to false narratives. All through this series we heard "what the Dodgers need to do is to get to the National's bull pen. Their relievers are far worse than the Dodgers" Well once again for So Cal fans the "Theory of Opposition" raises it ugly head. I've been told that somehow it has to do with the closeness of So Cal to the warm Pacific waters compared to the cold east coast. Things that are supposed to happen tend to go the other way. The problem with this theory is that there isn't anything the Dodgers can do about it. It will always be that way-with exceptions that come along now and then. Nevertheless, I'm not sure I can blame the ocean on this loss although as Buehler said after the game "there is no explanation". How many of us thought Zuerline was money in Seattle last Thursday night-but the opposite happened.
