Before he became a doctor TV star, Dr. Phil McGraw's early career was a company he had called "Courtroom Sciences" and part of their service was helping with jury selection, which I imagine from a psychological perspective could be very useful.
I was on federal jury duty a bunch of years ago. I got time off from a job I didn't like very much, working outdoors and this was during summer, and I got all of my salary plus the stipend from the court and mileage to the courthouse. So I was happy any day I had to report, and really enjoyed the whole process.... except for deliberations. If you people would all just think like me, this would be a much better world!
