my granddaughter bought one that needs to be assembled. She's currently in LA, Disneyland trip, and asked me to check on them (a LOT), to oversee the assembly... BUT I thought...
Golden opportunity for my grandsons to take on the project on their own... from unpacking to clean up. Brilliant of me, right?
I've been checking their progress throughout the day... but I'm not helping in any way. They're doing well... first lesson they learned is that people who draw up the assembly instructions, (for anything), ARE the most incompetent people on earth. That's a valuable life lesson.
Other lessons they've learned... the packaged parts will be missing some pieces. Hence the value of my catch-all drawers in the garage with innumerable screws, nuts, wing nuts, etc from 60+ years of assembling crap. "A" doesn't necessarily connect to "B".... sometimes ancient Mayan language is the basis for connecting the dots. The order of assembly can be quite haphazard, defying all logic.
And on and on... I don't think they'll finish today although they have done well. They've already had to disassemble and reassemble a few times so they're getting there.
