In ours you would never call members "hoity toity". Our members dress like a beach party-shorts, sandals, Hawaiian shirts, etc. Most drink heavily and it's loud, loud, loud. Most are real sailors and many have sailed around the world in both large and small crafts. You can't be "hoity toity" to do that. Takes skill, strength, and balls. The race to Hawaii from the Calif. coast is just a normal race for most.
Have to find my shorts and sandals now as going to the club to have lobster this evening. Lobster caught by member divers-including yours truly.
BTW-I was a commodore once and a judge advocate. So get off my lawn punks.
