I hear ya!
About a month ago, I was showing my grandson how to do a certain move I saw his dance teacher teaching in his dance class. It was a lunge. I could see that Everett wasn't performing it correctly. With every lunge he would rest his knee on the floor instead of doing it like this:
So, I was trying to show him how to do it. Well, first of all, it's not as easy as it looks. And second of all, I hurt myself doing it. I didn't hurt my knee, or thigh... NO-O-O-O... nothing in my lower extremities, which would make sense. Instead, I did something to cartilege over my rib cage just under my armpit. I actually heard it pop/snap when it happened. I've been hurting ever since. I couldn't lay on my side at all, sure couldn't sleep on my side, and it hurt whenever I turned a certain way. For about 2 weeks, I slathered my side in Ben-Gay and popped a couple of Tylenol before bedtime just to be able to get some sleep. It's just now beginning to feel a lot better than it did but I can tell it's not fully healed.
I fully acknowledge and accept that I am NOT the spry, in-shape babe I used to be. When I go to the doctor's office and she asks me if I exercise, I say "I walked in here unassisted, didn't I?" She just laughs. She knows she's not gonna get any more than that outa me.
