My favorite places in the USA.....

Been quite few years now since my last trip around the USA on my motorcycle. I traveled as far as the Atlantic Ocean twice and two other trips I got past the Mississippi but not quite to the Atlantic.

I don't have any place I'd call my 'favorite'.... but I do think, (remember), certain places more than others. I don't think that makes them "better" but it's all I have to go by.

The 4 Corners Area - this is what I'm calling what is actually a HUGE area around the intersection of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. NOT just Monument Valley it would include Chaco Canyon, The Grand Canyon, and several other places.

Mt. Rushmore - again, a large area around Mt. Rushmore. Rapid City would be the biggest city in the area. The area has everything I love about geography and the people are great.

The Oregon Coastline. The entire length! I could include the Washington coastline but I have yet to travel the full length.

The Mississippi River - I crossed the Mississippi at several places and every single time I did I was mesmerized.

Lots more but I'll include one other and for a specific reason. Without question this area would be the consensus "most hated" location in the USA by most. But not me. It fascinates me. The reason people would give for hating it would be "There is nothing to see". I get that.... but don't agree. Granted there's a lot of "the same" for hundreds of miles but that appeals to me. I'm talking about west Texas. There lies mystery in that great open expanse. But I probably saw the area better than most because I often got off the freeway.... lots of narrow roads without lines. Most people just zip thru on the Interstates. - JamesJM
