USUALLY, they'd go over the Ocean of extreme West Jacksonville before it got so crowded. One day, we were all playing football at our sandlot on a crisp clear day when ..BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!! Scared the hell outta us!! To this day, the loudest Sonic Boom I have very heard. That night, my Grandfather came over for Dinner as he always did. I remember him telling my Dad that the Navy had already issued an apology and discipline was being handed out. That boom only did minor damage. The next day, I remember my Grandfather saying that a Pilot caught hell. LOL That was probably around 1975 or 76. Have not heard a Boom like that since. We DO get the non damaging ones from Space craft returning to the Cape. Those are loud but muffled.
