when Dick came to the RAMS the 2nd time as HC the team was dreadful. I wrote him a letter (a real letter, hand written with an envelope and everything)! Said stuff about how I was a fan since late 60's, never followed anyone else, told him never lived anywhere around the team. Told him I believed in him and the way he was building the team, but it'll take some time to get rid of the "losing stink" and not to quit on them... they need him.
Time went by and I never really thought much of the letter I sent. Then 1 day went to the mail box and inside was a letter with the letter head of the STL RAMS.....addressed by hand. Inside was a card with the RAMS helmet logo and written by hand and signed by Dick was a really nice Thank You letter....He took the time to do the whole letter, from the address to the note inside....Never had to lift a finger, or coulda sent a "factory"letter.
The thing about him that I think can't be replicated was his sincere feelings he showed to not only people in his field, but just people overall....IMO you made the right choice in choosing his sig over Manning.....
