Yup. It was actually a chronology done 3 parts or "Books". I have all 3 in my digital library.
The first was "North and South: Book 1, North & South". The series was televised in 1985 and consisted of 6 episodes covering the period from summer 1842-April 1861.
The second was "North and South: Book 2, Love & War". The series was televised in 1986 and consisted of 6 episodes covering the period from June 1861-April 1865..
The third was "North and South: Book 3, Heaven & Hell". The series was televised in 1994, and consisted of 3 episodes covering the period from summer 1865-summer 1866..
