My perception of East/West similarities..... The very large cities in the far East... like Baltimore, NY, D.C., Atlanta...... are not much different than the large far West cities - LA, Seattle, San Diego.... there are a few exceptions.
The Mid-West is where I find cities to be the most different and distinct - St. Louis, Tulsa, Denver (I know, probably not considered Mid-West but it is to me), Nashville.
