I just thought, and a lot like it is for me here, it was difficult to find these days so not a matter of 'choice' but rather 'necessity'.
I'm going to take your advice, by the way, because I do NOT know this new generation of smooth jazz artists so I'm going to start writing down names.
Today I'm preparing our guest room for my son's family visit.... been cleaning, etc. for about 4 hours and during that time I turned on Apple Music's Smooth Jazz radio station... which I think is probably exactly like your iHeart station.... and during the last 4 hours I believe I've only heard about 5 tunes from the 'golden era'. Lets see... from memory... Everett Harp - The Rippingtons - Kenny G, Acoustic Alchemy... perhaps a couple others.
Acoustic Alchemy, by the way, is an all time favorite of mine. Seen them in concert more times than I can remember. - JamesJM
