After me and my Wife worked on the VJ Day puzzle.....I Googled VJ Day photos. WHAT! A! FREAKING!! PAAARTY!!!! I looked up photos and stories. My favorite was the story of the Sailor and Dental Student kissing at Times Square. VERY famous photo!!! He was interviewed and said he was watching a movie several blocks from Times Square, when the Theater Manager interrupted to say....."IT'S VJ DAY!!" He said he felt compelled to go to Times Square. And so did THOUSANDS of others. He grabbed and kissed the girl because she reminded him of Nurses who help so many during the War. She was actually just a Dental Student. She had no problem with it because everyone was just so over the top thrilled that day.
OOOOOOOOOF COURSE...While digging up that photo and info on it, I found a "MODERN" Journalist who compared that photo to the # ME TOO Movement!!??
SOOOOOOO glad I grew up around MANY WWII Vets and Females from that awesome era to GET IT!
