in life to try to become an NTSB accident investigator? I check SOME of the boxes necessary, but that pilot's certificate and Air Traffic Tower Controller license and/or experience may be a tad out of reach at this late point in life..
But, man... ALL I do is watch Air Disasters and other air accident investigation shows.. I study CVR's and FDR's of downed planes.. I've built animated 3D models of multiple jet engines, including the workhorse for most commercial flights - the CFM56 - and whenever they break down engine faults and stuff I know exactly what they're talking about... Done multiple 3D cockpits and flight control surface sims.. I'm saying all this just inc ase you have an "in" with the NTSB.. Its considered a GS 12 position and I've been a GS11 for ten years, which is a requirement..
I think I would absolutely rock that position.. sigh...
