Ok, so to try and answer your question, they kind of took the path that AI has the ability to take over, and will, but humans, at least for the time being, can overcome it.. But, I see what your saying - like with Terminator and whatnot - AI taking over the world and stuff.. this one didn't go that far, but took it enough in that direction that a possible sequel could show AI getting the upper hand.. if that makes sense..
