The guy's exhausted. Head Coaches work around the clock. To win it all your team plays an extra month of games. You have almost no off season. When all goes well the team wins and it is worth it. When your entire team (except your RT and kickers) get hurt and you lose almost every week it can frustrate you.
He will be a HC for several more years. We as fans are frustrated by the team this season, but try to imagine all the roster moves and coaching decisions you made and injuries blew it all up. He thought his OL would be solid with Boom at LT, Edwards at LG, Allen at center, Bruss at RG and Havs at RT. Bruss got hurt. Okay no biggie because we have Shelton. Boom got hurt. No problem, Jackson could fill there. Edwards got concussed. We're getting a little thin but Ancrum will start at RG and so on and do on. Brewer was out. Shelton missed time. Jackson got the blood clots. Edwards got reconcussed. While all this was going on our RBs were getting stuffed and our QB was getting smushed. Then, our QB got hurt. All his cool plays weren't working because we had no blocking. On D our whole DL has been hurt. Our best safety has been out. Our backups have been in and out. It has been a nightmare. But, our Rams play hard every game. There have been glimpses of sunlight in the darkness. AJ was a find. Durant has flashed. Tutu had some big plays. SKOW had some great moments.
CK was amazing again before getting hurt. Havs had a strong season. Our kickers were both terrific. Wags was incredible. Mayfield produced a miracle. Akers has come on strong toward the end. McVay didn't quit. His coaches kept coaching and his players, though very outmanned, kept playing hard. And honestly that's all you can hope for in this sort of season. Nobody can lose his QB, top 3 WRs, four of 5 starting OL and all your backup OL and win. Nobody can lose all 3 starting DL and half your secondary and win. And somehow, with no cards to play, McVay won 5 games. He did his job. Well done. Will be cheering our horns on today not just because I love the Rams, but really don't like the Seahawks.
I hope McVay gets the sun and the players hoist them in their shoulders. He did an incredible job. Maybe even better than last year when we were totally loaded and healthy throughout.
