Well ... so ... that happened.
Was watching with my Mom and discussing Morris' defensive philosophy, the long story of Baker Mayfield, and other family matters for 3 and a half quarters, then I said "You know, we could actually win this game mathematically, that's crazy."
Then we won.
The Great1) That I'll have something awesome to look back on when I think of this terrible season.
2) Baker. I've been a fan since his OK days ... because of his accuracy and toughness. I believe he was wronged by Cleveland, who publicly went after Watson the year after Baker led them to a playoff win. First one in forever. He then played injured last year and endured weeks of Beckham drama. Cleveland gets what they deserve with Watson. We get a plus backup who can legitimately be the next man up should Stafford have lasting issues. That's the difference between well run franchises and the factory of sadness.
3) Van's first walkoff TD.
4) The INT in the end zone.
5) a 3-71-0 stat line for Adams with Ramsey on him.
6) Playing against Derek Carr in three fantasy leagues.
7) Akers in-game redemption.
8) Bobby Wagner getting multiple game saving stops.
9) Skowronek's catch, and his day overall. Clutch.
The Good10) Morris' defense overall proved its worth.
11) Tutu is dependable? Oh, and the baiting his way into the PI was pretty genius.
12) Ernest Jones overall.
13) Gotta keep Gaines.
14) Keir Thomas sighting.
15) Defensive line holding Jacobs to under 100 yards missing two starters. Dawgwork.
16) Hill played sound, I thought he read his way into the backfield a few times well.
17) Rapp may be a liability but he has a nose for the ball.
18) Decent running lanes ... decent pass pro.
The Bad19) I thought the refs were kinda schizophrenic. Calling it one way and then another.
20) I thought a backup would target the TE more ... I'm not sad he was throwing downfield, though.
21) Not trying to be ticky tack, but I want Powell to have more designed plays, and I DON'T want him having to block Max Crosby, ever.
College22) Not much new from the previous week, because I wrote it a couple days ago. Want to mention UTSA though, where Tariq Woolen came from. The WRs ... one is injured (Clark) ... but Zacory Franklin and Josh Cephus and Clark make up the best non power 5 group I have ever seen. Frank Harris does great finding them, but they're big, strong, and fast with good hands. For reference ... Franklin has the most TD career in the FBS, 2nd in yards, and 3rd in receptions.
23) Watched the SEC title game, came away impressed with the Nussmeier kid.
24) No longer worried about backup QB.
25) I like 3 people on Fresno for late rounds. Remigio (slot), Evan Williams (S), and David Perales (edge, 6-3 255 with long arms).
Okay Ill break here ... questions and comments welcome.
