If McVay looks objectively on that play there is no way that Wolford starts another game in the NFL (well, I am sure he would not do that on any other team but the Rams).
Tutu was ten yards clear . Wolford had time and space to step up and even with all this time and space he underthrew that ball as bad as you can. Even an average college QB makes that throw .
The guy has a noodle arm and it cost the Rams 7 big points right there. That is as easy as a TD will be presented to you in the NFL.
In the end you can make a case that it cost the game. TD there would not only have put up 7 but the momentum gain would have been big too.
And it is not that it was just one play where his lack of arm talent was on display. There were many other plays where he was short with his throws. And his accuracy is bad as well. Way too often he is high with the ball as for example on the play where Tutu could just not drag his second foot inbounds. He made him reach up and that made it tough to get the second foot down.
The most embarrasing play of all however was his last pass attempt of the day when he left it 20 yards short of the intended receiver.
If McVay trots this guy out again on Thursday I will lose a lot of respect and faith in our HC.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
