That’s why I draft Darnell Washington, the big TE out of Georgia. It’s like having Roger Saffold blocking to the second level. He’s the perfect blocker for McVay run concepts at the edge and the plus is, as mentioned, blocking at the 2nd level. Chunk run plays will be possible with him and not just 3-4 yards and a cloud of dust.
Plus he catches very well, runs YAC well and apparently has been clock at 4.6 in the 40. Not bad for a guy who’s 275 lbs.
In mocks he’s typically available when the Rams first pick in round 2. If he falls, he addresses a ton of issues the Rams have had on O this season.
