Face it - run. Give your O line a chance to beat up the KC D line a bit so the run game can be effective later. Mix in short, sharp passes within the QB's ability on play-action or rollouts. And please - don't even think about throwing deep balls that most likely will become floaters against the strong interior rush that will be coming from KC.
Best way to beat that kind of rush? Run right at it - again and again, with two or more guys blocking against it. Maybe think about sending Skow to block ahead of Williams, who can see and cut to a vacant off-schedule hole.
Regardless of pressure up the middle from a now-healthy Gaines and AD, Mahomes will shred our undermanned secondary. Go easy on out our outmatched, outgunned guys after the game, please. Look for imporoved play up the middle against their potent running attack. Hold their phenomenal rookie RB to under 100 yards.
We fams should look for the potential bright spots, as our players prepare to man up and take a whuppin' like men, without giving up, hoping that a few freak bounces of the ball come our way and we can capitalize on them and the unlikely big play to somehow pull out a win - or a hard-fought game in a loss.
Show some unexpected character even in defeat. That can turn things around later.
