I was actually bullish on the Rams OL depth as the season approached. I thought Jackson (swing tackle), Anchrum and Bruss were a solid 6th-8th OL. Unfortunately that evaporated almost instantly (and more)...
I agree with all of your 'Mistakes We Made' except for Von Miller. I was totally fine with him leaving based on what Buffalo offered.and that they'll still get a 5th round comp pick back. But they really misread things when it came to feeling like Hollins/Lewis/Garrett/Hardy could platoon there and be adequate. And to be fair I was one of those that agreed with it (thinking that all combined they'd be at least decent and, worst case, they could address it at the trade deadline- which they tried and failed to do).
I am really hoping more light eventually gets shed on Akers and what specifically happened there. It's a shame. Likely both sides contributed to the situation. But it's a bad combination when you have to trot out 13 different OL and your presumed RB1 falls totally flat.
I am in the camp of thinking this injury to Kupp might be a (longer-term) blessing in disguise. He has looked tired and beat up to me. The team is unfairly asking him to literally do it all. And like a lot of players, the 21 games of 2021 may still have been taking their toll. I cannot see any logical reason to bring him back in December and hopefully this affords Jefferson, Robinson, Skowronek and McCutcheon opportunities that can make them stronger as a unit in 2023.
Humphrey over Tutu was a "layup pick" as you said... And I like Brian Allen just fine, but....
As far as the Draft, my early thoughts are to go offense with their top 3 selections. Draft an OL with one of their top two picks (while also finding one in FA). Find a RB they could pair with Williams. And a TE who can block and catch to team with Higbee.
