Like Deacon Jones in 1971

November 15, 2022 03:05AM
In 1971, Deacon Jones' best years were behind him, and the Rams were in decline. The same is true for Aaron Donald and the Rams in 2022. Both players still flashed greatness, but it was getting late in their careers. The 1971 Rams were a better and more interesting team than the 2022 Rams. I enjoyed watching that team. I can't stand to watch the 2022 Rams. The Rams were already in decline in 2021, but they became the most unlikely NFL champions since the 1968 Jets after patching up weaknesses with two impact players and somehow finding ways to pull out their final three postseason games (each by three points).
