Rams, one third down use what they call a gold front
it is a 3 guys on one side of center and one on the other
with a big gap in middle and in that gap a Lber stands
either on the line or just off.
The term I use for that LBer is the money backer--not sure
what Rams call it, but $ is common in Fangio books.
So, Rams had AD on the single side and Gaines, Lewis (at DT)
and Floyd (Edge) on the other.
As yourself how bad it is to have to use Gaines for that?
And do we think Lewis is a defensive tackle?
Rams miss guys who we through were average but were
contributors--guys who were solid, not great.
Brockers had 5 sacks in 2020, Fox had 5 or 6,
Brockers and Fox never played together they were kind of
the "other DT" next to AD. And the edges were Floyd
and on other side, Lewis, Hollins and others
Anyway, with Donald at one DT and Brockers and Fox
splitting time at the other DT--combined for 11 sacks...
Donald helped them but they helped donald
No one helps donald now
Maybe Floyd is getting there--health wise
