Certain plays are designed to go to certain players. We know that but tend to forget.

McVay has a tendency to try something early and if it doesn't work the first time, he abandons it.

IF Stafford has just a wee bit of time to read, he can elect to spread the ball around, rewgardless who's on thed field, c.f. Super Bowl, after OBJ left, or if the situation calls for it, go to his go-to clutch receiver. c.f. Super Bowl, final drive.

IF McVay commits to the run early and STICKS WITH IT, it will work later in the game. Havenstein was hired as a road grader in the run game - pass blocking second, and developed later. Oday, if he starts at right guard, is also a run blocker. Run blocking, popping out and hitting someone, is easier on O linemen than wait-and-react pass blocking both physically and mentally - and harder on the guys getting hit.

I'd like to see McVay work diligently to establish the run block early in the game and watch - the run will become more effective (along with play action) as the game wears on. Runs and quick-developing plays will be the meal ticket early on. The chunk plays? Be patrient. Rivers, Brown, and Hendo can all be effective.
